Siracusa, Sicily - Any suggestions?

I am going to be in Siracusa, Sicily for five days. I usually research and plan my trips better but life got in the way and I am flying blind.
I have a hotel and that is it.
Any suggestions for food, drink, places or things to see would be appreciated.
I am planning to stay close to town mostly but am open to renting a car for a day and cruising the island if it's worth it.

LOL, I think the last time I was in Sicily was almost 40 years ago.

The Brits landed on that side, maybe there are some monuments to Montgomery to find

Appears my hotel is on the Island of Oritgia and is 400 meters from the Temple of Apollo. So it looks like I have a starting point.

Prehistoric cave dwellings near the town of Sortino looks pretty interesting. Thinking of going on our trip next spring.
