This is it boys…we have a consequential president we are witnessing in our lifetime. Even the dems are calling his speech in Saudi Arabia his reagan “tear down this wall speech”. Incredible. Who does this?

I am in the 'Trump for Rushmore" train of thought too - but not for any speech and certainly not what I heard on this trip.
He is to be honored for his actions - especially in the face of all the corrupt opposition he had from inside the government bureaucracy itself - but I do not recall any spectacular oratory. The result of his actions need to be honored - not the words he uses to describe them.
In fact, I think his verbiage detracts from the historical honor he deserves for his deeds.

You can’t be considered in that league if you have no legislation of consequence passed. Trump’s failure at this point is a lack of any lasting changes codified in actual law. You can’t be considered a great or a horrible President if you don’t have a lasting impact.

He is in a league of his own when it comes to saving the American dream as intended by our founding and the first 200 years of our existence.
No POTUS has ever faced the combined attack from all directions from every evil ideology that is devoted to destroying the Republic we inherited.
The fact that it had to be some narcissist who had the personal $$ means and the intellectual/moral integrity to withstand the onslaught is a fate we have to live with while applauding the fact that he was willing to undergo the attacks. He could have lived out his life in luxury - and if he were the typical "DC hero" he would have dipped into that tax-payer-funded honey pit himself and increased his wealth rather than putting his financial future on hold and enduring the onslaught from all the corruption that is in the process of destroying our future.
He needs his own Rushmore.

Until he gets true legislation passed he hasn’t saved anything. Without that he is a blip on the radar of time.

He got rid of the dept of education. Enough said

Trump continually praises Thune and Mike Johnson for the jobs they are doing.
Trump’s the best President ever on immigration and rescuing Americans held overseas.

Could you imagine the left if this happened? There would be nuts out there trying to blow it up.

Some presidents are barely remembered at all. For instance, James A. Garfield is primarily known for being assassinated, and William Henry Harrison for having the shortest presidency. Gerald Ford is mainly noted for being the only president who was never elected to the office. These facts, while interesting, are ultimately trivial and don’t reflect a lasting impact on the nation or on people’s lives today.
In contrast, other presidents are remembered because they made significant and lasting changes that continue to shape the country. George Washington is not just remembered as the first president but also as the Revolutionary War general who secured American independence. Thomas Jefferson, known for drafting the Declaration of Independence, also reshaped the nation by acquiring the Louisiana Territory.
Abraham Lincoln fundamentally changed the nature of the United States from a loose collection of states to a more unified nation with a stronger federal government. Theodore Roosevelt’s legacy includes the National Park System, still enjoyed by millions. Woodrow Wilson established the Federal Reserve and the modern income tax system, both of which continue to influence the economy. Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal brought Social Security, an enduring cornerstone of social safety. Dwight D. Eisenhower is remembered for founding NASA and creating the Interstate Highway System, both of which transformed American infrastructure and innovation. Lyndon B. Johnson’s Great Society programs established social welfare initiatives that remain part of the national fabric.
Donald Trump might be remembered for overcoming adversity, potentially serving two non-consecutive terms, or surviving multiple assassination attempts. However, without significant legislative achievements or lasting changes, his legacy could resemble that of Harrison, Garfield, or Ford; remembered more for unusual or unique circumstances than for transformative impact on the country.
Presidents who are remembered throughout history tend to be those who made decisions or enacted policies that had a lasting, transformative effect on the country, whether viewed positively or negatively. Being memorable as a president often means being responsible for changes that continue to shape American life long after their time in office.

getting 'true legislation' passed is not a direct evaluation factor in evaluating the character/ability of a POTUS - you need cooperation of congress for that.
When the congress itself has been corrupted for over half a century the best you can do is minimize the damage the congress tries to do and maximize the effects you can achieve with presidential prerogatives.
He has done the latter in spades - nobody else could have done it at all in the political environment that he inherited.
Should the Republic survive in any acceptable form wrt the concepts of our founding, he will be placed in a position of distinction - not for what the inept congress did or didn't do, but for what he prevented from transpiring under the weight of the corruption he inherited.
I do not even like the man personally - he is far too narcissistic for my personal friendship taste. But I have lived 87 years and he is the most forceful personality working for the most honest concept of what our nation should be. He is in the same league as Eisenhower and Reagan and they had much more compatible congresses to work with.
Trump is not the only one who dodged a bullet last year.

need to take Washington out of these comparisons.
Nobody will, or can, ever replace, or even compete with, the importance of Washington to the foundation and preservation of this union.

Do you not recall Comey's decision not to prosecute her? Now we know what we knew al along. He has TDS. He was pretending to be impartial.

You forget that the democrats are ate up with anti Americanism and Marxism. It’s MUCH more difficult to get a decent bill passed these days.

I understand that you like Trump, I do too, but when people compare him to Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt, or Lincoln, it comes across as uninformed and a bit naive. Those leaders were carved into a mountain for a reason, they left an undeniable and lasting impact on the nation.

Republicans have the majority! You don’t need a single Democrat to pass a bill in the House.

He has a republican senate and house. Get some executive orders passed into law and then we can talk. Are you retarded?
Posted on 5/17/25 at 7:11 am to DaTruth7
None of them play ball. Once again you’re defending a worthless Congress over Trump who would love to pass legislation.
