So first time going to all inclusive… what’s the set up on excursions?

Do you book thru the resort when you get there?

Book before you go ?

Any suggestions on companies to go thru….? Safety is #1 concern….

Thanks!

I have only been to the Sandals AI resorts in Jamaica but have booked excursions both online before my vacation and on site once I arrived.

I prefer to book onsite only because we had to make a change to one of the excursions that I had booked online / ahead of time and it was extremely difficult to get refunded bc it was booked online. Had I waited and booked on site- there would not have been any difficulty.

Not an excursion- but certainly something to think about is your arrival and departure from the island. Have you looked into Club Mobay for your arrival and departure? It is well worth the money imho.

I haven’t been to Oyster Bay, but we went to Excellence El Carmen in Punta Cana and when we arrived they had a 3rd party guy stationed at the resort who you could talk to and book excursions with. We ended up not using him though and booked a different one through the Viator website so we could read reviews and do some research ahead of time. I had no reason to believe the 3rd party guy’s excursions were unsafe though.

I suggest going through the resort. It’s easier and you have backing from the resort. Anywhere other than Jamaica, I’d give you suggestions, but there’s too many untrustworthy locals that cause me to lack confidence in their ability to deliver what they promise.

You can always research Trip Advisor. If they 5 stars and a ton of reviews, that’s pretty much gospel that the business is reputable in my book.

Go zip lining. We had stunning views on ours.

Dunn's river falls was great a long time ago. I'm sure it still is but likely overrun with tourists. worth seeing and safe if done through the resort.
