Remember: After 2 games last yr people talking Super Bowl. Now Reality Hits Home

Last Year Saints Fans were Delusional !!
Oh yeah…. The Saints were SuperBowl bound.
Saints were one of the “DOMINANT” Teams in the NFL with talent for days.
-Fans didn’t want to accept the fact… the team had little to no talent compared to rest of the league.
The results of 2024:
-Oldest Team in the League.
-Highest Payroll Salaries in the League.
- Only 5 wins in 17 attempts !
Todays Reality:
1). Las Vegas has Saints as longest SuperBowl odds in the league.
No shocker … but this denotes Saints as arguably the single worst team in the NFL.
2). Mock Drafts for 2026 have Saints projected with either 1st overall pick in the draft or 2nd overall pick in the draft.
3) The NFL openly stating the Saints are so bad…. they award NOT ONE single prime time game.
-Not even a Thursday Night game in next years schedule.
- Lets put this in perspective… a schedule of this type …awarded by the NFL …
hasn’t happened to the Saints..
since 25 years ago !!
— Let that sink in folks !!
I’m sorry the Saints occupy the lowest level of the NFL… doesn’t make me happy at all.
But at the very least…. saints fans have been shown the reality of the Saints Talent Level and EVERYONE must now realize a rebuild is needed.
I still remember all the TD posts last year…
From fans who TRULY believed the Saints were a Dominant Team in the league with exceptional talent across the board.
Hopefully people take their Black &Gold glasses off.
This may be the right staff to rite the ship (frick the GM) … but it will take another 3 draft classes.

So what you are saying is the injuries had nothing to do with their downfall.I don’t get the totally myopic views that some SO-CALLED fans have.I didn’t care for DA either but to blow off a good start without giving all the reasons is just ignorant.If the Saints didn’t suffer those injuries they probably win 9or10 games whether you like it or not.

I mean, everyone knew our oline had no depth and no serviceable backups. The season went without a hitch until McCoy went down early in 3rd game against eagles and thus starting the spiral. They lost that game and the next by a combined 5 points and then Lucas patrick went down game 5 and it was a wrap.
The facts are that injuries directly doomed our season and saying they would have sucked even still is technically just speculation because we don't know.
Now the depth is someone's fault, but to say the facts are injuries didnt crater our season last year is a indefensible position because you have no facts to back it up. Reality didnt play out in a way we could ever know factually.

We ended up shitting the bed during prime time throughout last season once the injuries started. Of course they aren't throwing us back in there, what have you done for me lately. A healthy 2024 derek carr is with strong odds going to yield more wins than shough/rattler and we didnt make any splash draft picks or signings; all those guys are now older and injury prone until proved otherwise. Seemed like the logical outcome to me.
I really couldnt care less, Its probably for the better of a team rebuilding to have a reason to have chip on their shoulder.

I feel like this is an overblown statement. Yes, it is an indication of how the league views the Saints and it should put the expectations of the team in perspective for the fans. But, until this year there was an agreement that every team would get at least 1 prime time each year for the last 10-15 seasons. During that 25 year stretch, how many times did we get the bare minimum?
Also, why shite in people for a little bit of optimism and hope. Let them get the slap in the face when reality sets in. Or do “you” need the victory in your life to be able to say “I told you so” about something that at the end of the day is simply entertainment and has no impact on the rest of your life

Oh I get it. Under DA this team was a borderline playoff team, not as an indication of how good the team was, simply because the division was that bad. The reality was, we were most likely going to win enough games to mess us optimum drafting positions, and still not make the playoffs. But if people think the team is good enough to make the playoffs and challenge, so be it let them have their optimism. Why would them posting about their false expectations cause you to feel the need to shite in their parade when the team hasn’t even had a practice
