I’m not going to pretend to say I understand exactly how Carr’s cap hit will hit this season.

However I’m curious if anyone thinks we will look to potentially make a trade to strengthen the roster now that we have some extra cap space over the next few years. We could definitely use some help at WR or CB.

Don’t burn any of your future draft capital… you need that capital to acquire better, younger, cheaper players through the draft.

You want a QB….

No!

This isn’t a quick fix and it’s May. Plenty of teams don’t actually burn up all of their cap space the moment it becomes available. Plenty of contenders actually have a decent amount of space and wiggle room and aren’t up against it every year.

This is to take a few more years and drafts.

To me it makes sense to give the new coaching staff a season to evaluate the team and figure out where they really need help before signing an expensive FA or spending draft capital on a trade. Who knows if the Saints will see it that way.

Maybe Loomis spends it like a drunk sailor in his Port o call.

Only thing saints should be doing is signing some vets to 1 year deals with the cap space and maybe you can flip them to teams with injury issues at the deadline for late picks.

I would roll as much future cap money back into this year as possible. Reduce dead money, reduce future cap obligations. The Saints got lucky, they should use it to their advantage.

The talk is we trading for a Browns QB.

Joe Flacco for one year as a patch replacement.
