Just finished the game today. I'm sure a lot of others have as well.

I wanted to be able to discuss the story and potential DLC without ruining it for others.

Has there been confirmation of DLC?

I'd normally like to leave games like this alone, but Renior mentioned being able to "paint" as a gift. Could there possibly be multiple spin off games as a series where each new game is a different "canvas" or world?

I'm blindly going to play anything Sandfall comes out with now; especially if it's a spin-off of this story line.

I've actually just started the NG+

Going to replay it and see what additional content there is as far as combat stats.

Will probably try different stat combos this go around as well.

This 2nd playthrough (NG+) is interesting. Knowing what we know, it gives the story a completely different slant.

Maelle basically knows what's going on and seemingly is just living out an adventure fantasy of her own making.

The enemies are much stronger this go around and it's pretty cool getting all of the upgraded lumina and weapons

ETA: Point in case, took me forever to bear the curator this time and I got over 1 million XP for it

They were, no joke, talking about a potential free DLC.

Did you hit level 99 before NG+? If you hit 99 in NG+, did the achievement pop for you?

No I was only in the 50's when I finished the game.

I'm already into the 60s on NG+ at Flying Waters.

The enemies are TANKY on the 2nd run and do a frick ton more damage. They almost one shot you.

All of the pictos and weapons are in the same spots, they are just HEAVILY upgraded now when you find them.

The XP is crazy high from the enemies too.

In my opinion, the 2nd run is worth it.

Nice. I might start NG + just to get the level 99 achievement quicker because farming xp at 95 is a long slow process even in the hardest areas.

Anyway, for the spoilers: I want more of expedition 0. A DLC or prequel about their journey and how the whole thing started would be awesome.

ETA: Does NG+ start a new save or does it overwrite your game?

NG+ overwrites the current save.

It gives you a ton of warnings though

Second playthrough is an experience all its own. So many little things I didn't catch the first time.

That and knowing the ending makes the dialogue and cryptic conversations all come together now.

ETA: Listening to Verso talk to Maelle right after Gustave dies is harsh. She's talking about losing him as a brother, meanwhile her actual lost brother is Verso. Right in the feels

Dang I bet that does hit different.

I wish they'd let you keep Gustave for the whole NG+. Would make sense given we already know what he is at that point.

I had such a huge deal with this game. Not much time to type it out all atm but

- I went with Verso. At the end of the day he wanted to rest and Maelle wanted a fantasy, as sad as that was to do.

- I don’t think there’s any single villain in this game really. I have wracked my head on it and if their is one it is clea

On a gameplay front I felt much of the end game was far too easy but man Simon humbled me for a bit

I did choose to do the story first so I could be level scaled for it correctly so maybe that’s why and I hit the end game over leveled with all the gear and shite in final lumier

I did both, but ultimately kept this ending because it feels like the "good" ending. The other ending makes Maelle the villain imo.

I agree with this. Clea is the closest thing to a villain because she trapped her sister in the painted world. Or Maelle if you go with her ending.

I did this with a solo build using Maelle based on a low health high damage build using jackpot. Just kept trying until I hit on jackpot and killed him in one turn.

have started a run doing some testing about what is different. I wish we could get an item randomizer like og RE3 or something.

Also versos Clive from FF16 outfit goes frickING HARD lol. Same actor too

Also fatkid they patched out the ability to do both on one save run now

Regarding clea and why I think she is the most villain like

She made the nevrons to keep the chroma trapped in their bodies when they died. That’s seriously fricked up if you get that worlds lore lol

They could totally make a sequel about the war between the writers and painters

Agree 10000000%

The 2nd playthrough is basically a half new game with what we know now.

The paintings in the manor give a ton of information that you couldn't possibly piece together without knowing the ending.

I really hope they branch off this story line with games of past expeditions or completely different realities from other canvases from other painters.

An expedition 0 game would be awesome.

Agreed

I feel like they've left a ton of open ended story lines for future games
