Lions have had a solid year. The 2 usm losses were brutal because they were 9th inning blown saves. Otherwise they can win the conference if they can win the last 2, Atleast have a share.

Mcneese fighting for the same right.

UTRVG also has rights to 1-3 in conference play with a week off before the tournament.

It’s a tough conference.

No idea how southeastern got absolutely demolished by nicholl's last night but whatever, it's baseball. Hopefully they can get two wins and hold onto #1.

I'm confused what you mean here

All 8 teams play next weekend in 2 4-team, double elimination brackets

Naturally SLU wants 2 wins to be season champs, 1 seed, & have the entirety of the tournament go through Hammond

But either 1 SLU win or McNeese loss confirms Hammond hosts 1 of the 2 double elimination brackets in weekend 1

UTRGV already has the other bracket locked down

SLU Saturday doubleheader against Nicholls...

2 SLU wins - SLU is SLC regular season champions & 1 seed

Split - SLU is 2 seed

2 Nicholls wins - SLU will still be 2 seed with McNeese loss... 3 seed (& likely host nothing) with McNeese win at NSU

UTRGV is has already locked up the Southland Championship wouldn’t they host the championship tournament?

No b/c if SLU wins both against Nicholls today then SLU & UTRGV would be tied with 22-8 SLC records

SLU won the regular season series against UTRGV 2-1 & thus the tiebreaker

ETA: the SLC is doing a regional/super regional format for the baseball tournament this year

UTRGV will host 1 of the 2 "regional" brackets next weekend

Who is in the driver's seat to host the "super regional" Championship series is still up for SLU to take

Ah I gotcha. Thanks for the clarification. So if SLU and UTRGV make it to the “super regional round” SLU would host because they own the tie breaker?

If SLU beats Nicholls twice today... then yes this hypothetical championship series would be in Hammond

Southeastern beats Nicholls in game 1 of the DH 5-4 in 10 innings

Hammond will host the other "regional" bracket of the SLC Tournament next weekend

Game 2 of the DH will determine if SLU is the 1 seed or UTRGV will be the 1 seed

Would be good to see SLU at the Box for Regionals. The Southland is a good league, but the committee will probably only take 1 or 2 because they will put power conference teams in.

They finished their conference regular season last weekend, right?

SLU leading Nicholls 12-0 in the 5th inning of game 2 of the DH

Lions looking like they want that 1 seed

I would love to see Anderson or Eyanson against Bro. Martin alum Brennan Stuprich but I don't think we'll get that... SLU could be a 3 seed instead of a 4 seed

If SLU makes tournament, they’re most likely a 3 seed in a regional.

It is (mercifully) over in Thibodaux

SLU is the SLC Season Co-Champion & 1 seed in the SLC Tournament

Lions defeat Nicholls 19-4 in 7 innings in game 2 to sweep the DH

The road to the Southland's NCAA Regional auto-berth goes through Hammond, America
