Binged this over the weekend and I could definitely see myself being obsessed with this if I was single and had the resources and time to devote to actually searching for a hidden treasure chest. Very cool story and quite an interesting twist at the end.

Binged it last night and enjoyed it as well. What a kick in the nuts that the software engineer was right on top of it was just a little too late. Also, the amount of psycho weirdos out there is astounding. All the people that refused to believe it was found at the end pissed me off so bad. And I felt bad for the redneck family, they seemed like good people and actually had some good ideas to where it was at. 2 years on 1 rock was crazy though lol

I asked the fiance’ if she wanted to go look for the new treasure at the end. She’s not into it

Yeah I was pulling for the rednecks. They were all in. And yeah my wife wasn’t either hence the being single part of my post. Haha. But I could definitely become obsessed with that if I had the time and money.

I did one actual search during the time frame. I apparently had the right solve, but wrong location for the Home of Brown. I had Robert Behnke's About Trout book which wrongly said Brown Trout were first introduced at Lewis Lake in 1890 instead of in the Firehole (which was done in 1889 which was accurate in an older NPS book I found later after I searched.) So I was searching off 191 going towards the south entrance.

I still highly doubt the Madison was the correct solve. There were so many people searching around Nine Mile. It's also a marsh that floods. Would have been stupid to put it there.

The documentary has made a lot of the community mad. Posey, the guy doing the new hunt didn't find the magic log and magic stick where the treasure was supposedly found. Those were found by another guy named Rudy Greene. He was excluded completely from the documentary. Posey isn't sure why and has made statements on Twitter about how he didn't find that location and isn't sure why the documentary edited it to make it look like he did. He is getting a lot of hate over it. Rudy is confused too. The documentary guy isn't coming off great.

Here’s Rudy’s original video of where the spot is that most people think it was based off the photos posted by Forrest and Jack. It’s right at nine mile hole at the west entrance of Yellowstone.

You can see why it being right there is a bit dodgy. This is a very popular fly fishing area and it’s right by where a lot of people searched.

Which puts it about here
Google Maps

Never saw this site before, yeah I can see why it wasn't found in this popular area. It was properly buried.
