Have a family member going to work for a facility that is 90% Medicare and Medicaid reimbursed. He thinks the CMS mandate on Covid shots is still in effect and he has no plans on getting any shots or boosters Covid related. Is this still being enforced in certain medical facilities for staff?

My wife hasn't been forced to get one since 2022 (she turned it down on grounds of medical reasons being pregnant). She has a new job amd they asked about all vaccines but never heard anything. She is a doctor fwiw.

disclaimer - I'm not a "medical baw" I just typed it into the Google machinez

quote:

As of March 29, 2025, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has finalized rules regarding COVID-19 vaccination mandates for healthcare staff in CMS-certified settings, ending the mandate while maintaining requirements for education and offering vaccination, and also finalized provisions related to vaccine education for nursing homes.

Thanks for sharing. Yep I told him to have either a medical or religious exemption on standby if he can get it but honestly didn't know what to tell him if CMS still strong arms long term care facilities and the like into enforcing this at date of hire.

I don’t think our clinic even offers them anymore. Been like that for a couple years too.
