6’8 pitcher throwing mid 90’s getting lit up. Everyone can hit the FB now.

Radar guns have changed. Radar guns from 15 years ago say he’s probably being clocked 91-93

His fastball is flat and easy to pick up off his arm sometimes right now. Off speed isn’t consistent so hitters can sit on FB.

Don’t matter how fast you throw it when you can’t locate for shite. The dude is not a starter at the moment.

I don’t know about that. The access to high quality strength training and biomechanics analysis has definitely led to an increase in pitching velocity

It’s true. Nolan Ryan threw 94-98, Clemens 93-96, Pedro up to 97-98.
I remember at one time only a small handful of lefties in the big leagues threw over 95. Now every team had 4 or 5. The guns are different today.

And don’t forget the dumbass sissy base at first.

Velocity is more of a premium now than ever. Guys train for velocity first. They are throwing harder than ever before, by a pretty large margin.

Nah, more than that. 3-6 MPHs

So since the radar guns aren’t accurate at all today apparently then i guess Skenes actually wasn’t/isnt throwing 102 mph heat but instead 96-98?

The guns from 20+ years ago read about 1-2 mph slower, at most. There is extensive research on this. Chapman's 105.1, 15 years ago, would read 105.8 today.

New guns measure top speed, old guns measure speed of the ball when it crossed the plate.

Sissy first base is great IMO. Makes it a little easier to call and much safer
