Has anybody been to Crawfete in previous years and can speak to the experience? Namely how much food and drink to expect and atmosphere.

It is a fudraising event for the BR Epicurean Society, which supports "childhood nutrition initiatives, educational programs and scholarships" according to their web site. $100 is not a cheap ticket, but willing to pay that for a good experience. Thanks!

I’ll be there. It’s a very good time, at least when I’ve been in the past.

It’s a lot of boiled crawfish of course, but also dishes made with crawfish as a different category.

$100 is steep for sure, but it also keeps riff raff out. I want to say it includes all alcohol consumption as well. The last time it was held, this meant a fairly decent beer selection and Fred's was out there with fresh squeezed screwdrivers.

Nice event, will be there Sunday. Depends how much you want to stand in line on how much you get, but everything is very accessible overall.

Went based on your rec and your history of quality posts and shared opinions. My friend from Slidell had to cancel last minute, so I had to go alone. Still had a great time and talked to lots of people at the communal tables. Instead of me and my friend eating and drinking for hours, I treated it like an expensive lunch and just gorged on food for an hour before I left.

As for the food, I felt like Sammy's was the best boiled (was not expecting that would be the case). Just Wingin It came in second for me.

For the dishes, I liked Bin 77's arancini a lot. Thanks!

My top bites were the Ruffinos Dumplings and LSU dining pasta.

Bugs I thought CrawChicks and Soji were both incredible.

I must have had a bad batch at Sammy’s didn’t care for them at all.

Well this makes since. The Just Wingin It guy ran Sammy’s kitchen/crawfish for a long time.

These were our group's top ones as well. I also liked BR Country Club's.

The crawfish boil balls by a catering company whose name escapes me were awesome. And weirdly, the mac and cheese by Drago's. That one surprised me.

I didn't even try them since I've had their crawfish so much in-house, but whatever unique pepper it is they use in-house is just not very good to me. IDK if that's the Chinese pepper some people talk about on here or what, but it is so distinct and overpowering to me.

I got the Chinese pepper in craw chicks, not sure what Sammy’s used but it was off bad.
