This does look interesting, although tough to tell what kind of game it'll be.

Did you see the Kickstarter for The Sinking City 2? Looks like they're really focusing on making it more RE-ish and improving the combat.

I think it depends on what kind of Lovecraft games you like. The combat in the first one is terrible and there isn't much variety when it comes to interiors of buildings. However, the "cases" you work on and the story/investigation mechanics are decent. It's definitely not a AAA game and if some jankiness bothers you, it's probably not the game for you.

I found the game quite enjoyable on lower difficulty levels because then I could focus on the cases/storyline and didn't have to worry too much about combat. I got the Deluxe Edition w/ all the DLCs for less than $10 during a PlayStation sale so it was 100% worth it for me.
