Apparently US is too big of a 'threat'.
This is the former foreign Minister of Canada running to replace Trudeau (if he even resigns, which he may not). This was at a leadership debate from March 6.

If a nation says they want to bring in nukes to target your country, you ought to believe them and announce that every possible measure will be taken to prevent that. Nukes in Canada would be on us in a few minutes, with no warning and no ability to launch in retaliation. They wouldn't have to be ICBMs. This is the brightest red line imaginable and the people making these threats should also be targeted.

I’ve been following this whole situation with bemused enjoyment, but you don’t threaten to bring in nukes and point them at someone.
That’s an act of war and yes an invasion would be justified at that point.
Not to conquer, but to ensure the government up there was neutral.
