Democrats support Ukraine but pushed Israel to cut a deal for ceasefire

I didn’t want them to take this crappy ceasefire deal.

The Israelis needed the time to rest and refit. That was the one of the primary reasons for the ceasefire. They also weren't making much headway, they absolutely levelled Gaza, but Hamas was more or less intact. So the ceasefire gave them a way out, and they could simultaneously complain that the US "held them back" which protects their image, and the image does matter, it deters others from attacking them. The reality is the point man for Israel in the Biden administration was an IDF veteran, and Blinken was doing whatever they needed him to. It would always be easy for the Israelis to restart the war, should they choose too as well.
