A remote starving Scandinavian fishing village must deal with the consequences of them refusing to save the crew of a nearby ship wreck.

Certainly an interesting movie. It’s well made and has strong central concepts. It is very slow and doesn’t ever quite feel like a horror movie. More like a period drama with some horror elements. There is certainly creepy stuff. Especially creepy imagery though.

The ending of the movie is certainly up for interpretation which will drive some people up a wall. There’s 4 ways to interpret the last scene.

I enjoyed it until the ending.

Spoilers:

The ending sabotaged the supernatural horror elements IMO

Per google, a lot of people think the ending was still supernatural

I guess that option is there but it doesn't work easily if you're supposed to believe she could kill the entity like a normal person.

I was very much on-board halfway through when the sailor sang his song.

It's been weeks since I saw it but I went from thinking this was a great niche film to recommend to instead thinking it was worth forgetting because of the ending
