What’s up with the craters in the road?
How long has it been like that?

Ice, baby. The water gets into the cracks, then freezes and expands!
There was a little snow storm last week!

Snow can create potholes in short order. Any weak spots would have been sped up by the layer of ice and snow. Roads up north are decimated after the winter.

I first noticed the large ones you're talking about last summer.

Yeah, the snow was fun and all, but this was one of my concerns. I bet a ton of the roads throughout the state took a beating.
