We are headed to Tulum in March and I am hoping to do some inshore fishing and just see the are from a boat. It looks like there is a fair amount of inshore mangrove areas and I’d like to get a guide for a day. would also consider a snorkeling/ site seeing trip if the fishing isn’t good. thanks for any recommendations!

Go dive the cenotes instead. Fishing isn’t very good around there.

Don’t fall for the guided sea turtle tours, Akumal beach is free FTW.

Thank you. We are planning to stay at a hotel in Tulum for part of the trip and then maybe get a condo in Akumal for a few days. any recs for akumal? places to stay ? restaurants etc?

No real restaurant recs because we always stayed at Dreams in Tulum. But we rented a car to drive to Akumal. Also don’t fall for the Mexicans claiming you have to hire a “guide” to swim in the beach to see the turtles.
I’m cheap and we brought pool noodles in our luggage to float out to see the turtles; they’re only like 50 yards out.

Do a tour in the Sian Ka'an area, and also the cenote snorkeling....phenomenal.
