Colton Moore, a loyal, hardworking, pro-Trump Georgia State Senator, was handcuffed and arrested by the House Speaker after attempting to attend the State of the State session to fulfill his duties.
Previously suspended from the GOP caucus for helping lead the charge to end the corruption of Fani Willis, Moore tried to enter the chamber but was physically blocked from doing so. Law enforcement and guards were stationed outside the door, and when he attempted to proceed, he was wrestled to the ground.
@realColtonMoore deserves to be there to fight for his constituents!
Ok...someone able to tell me like I'm 5 what is going on here?

They were speaking in the Senate about naming a building at a satellite college after the late State Speaker of the House Ralston. Sen Colton Moore referred to Ralston as a corrupt crook. Because of Moore’s comments, the current Speaker said Moore could not come inside House chambers for anything. Moore tried. Moore got shoved down by a Sergeant of Arms (I think) and arrested by Troopers

Not really in an informed position to comment on Moore as a politician. I understand the basics and that he has fevered support and detractors as well. What I can’t wrap my head around is how they can legally bar him from proceedings of both houses without a crime, threat or safety concern..

Old fat guy would have been looking for teeth

It's RINO vs MAGA conflict.
Moore was recently elected and wanted to go into Chambers. They said no, he said he was the rep for his people, they still said no. Push came to shove. Literally.
No chance Moore let's this rest.

Ok got it. Thanks.
SO was he wrong about the guy being a crook and not able to have his own opinion and right to vote on doing this or not? I guess I'm wondering what he said allowed him to be banned from the room.

Good. I don't understand why his comment resulted in this penatly, so unless that is clarified properly, he should keep on it.

He should keep on it regardless. He's an elected member.

The Georgia GOP is ruled by a good ‘ol boy network that repeatedly puts the interests of it’s own ruling clique — and the desires of the deeply embedded corporate interests that fund this coterie — above the work-a-day concerns of the average Georgia citizen.
This same reality applies equally to Alabama. There is a reason Alabama is a Deep Red State:

I agree, but I'm still trying to understand where the leader thought he would be able to do this. 99% he doesn't, but would leave some kind of decorum that is in the bylaws we don't know.
The person that took him down should get punished too.

Can you imagine a US senator being locked out of a joint session or a State of the Union?

But Moore is a White guy, how could this be???

The 2 guys holding him back and all those officers need to get punished for this if there isn't some REAL LEGIT reasoning for keeping him out.
Them boxing him up in his personal space would be considered some kind of civil rights intimidation if the skin colors were reversed. Other that trying to legally enter, he was not a threat so no need for those officers to box im in like that.

No, but I know the general rules there. I don't know the rules in GA, so just wondering what was given as the reason. Doubt I will agree with them, but would be good to know. Why the reason/rule he broke to get this treatment hasn't been explained yet is interesting.

I think it's mostly butthurt.

I have only perused news articles about what Moore said on the Senate floor. He seemed to link his corruption allegations to Ralston neglecting/delaying cases as a trial attorney because of his duties as Speaker. I’m not advocating for one side or the other but that’s not corruption. Maybe someone who has followed it more can chime in.

Yeah, and I hope Moore makes sure no one involved with keeping him out, including the officers, are literally butthurt for following SS style orders.
