Hope you all are staying warm, folks. (I am Canadian, so its a little cold and snowy right now),

Getting really frustrated at the lack of movement as trade deadline approaches. It is my belief that the roster must be blown up.

Has anyone come across any youth or draft pick oriented trades they think might help us in the long-term. I am of the view we need one or more trades, albeit at a lesser value, like the trades where we received draft capital and / or younger players from the Lakers and Bucks.

Have a great day, all....appreciate any input you care to share.

Sorry that won't be happening. Priority is to move ingram to get below the tax. CJ if a realistic deal comes along but that's probably unlikely. Other than that, there's not going to he a lot of movement.

To add some color….

NBA trade deadline is February 6th at 2 central.

Nearly 96% of the players in the league are currently trade eligible.

Should be a lot more buyers than sellers, but teams have become a lot stingier with their first round picks. That on top of the new tight money apron landscape may cause modest movement.

BI has to be the most likely to be traded but needs to get back on the court. CJ certainly could get moved as more of a gentleman’s agreement to get him somewhere competing. I would love to see us land a backup big, draft capital obviously and money savings. In particular getting out of the luxury tax. Should be interesting.

I predicted on here several times that BI gets traded in the offseason for 2nds in a sign and trade.

Just waiting to see if my prediction holds true.

While that would not totally shock me, an offseason trade likely means players and salary coming back. The Nets look to be the one team with significant cap room, and I’m not sure BI is their primary target. Because of our complicated books as is, Pels would be smart to try really hard to get something done now.

Thank Supe,

Appreciate the analysis. agree moving BI is imperative, but do you think someone will pay draft capital for him ?

I think a team like Golden State might be a fit, but I don't believe they have enough draft picks. I got to believe they are ready to move on from Wiggins.

I know they won't move TJD, and the other young player I like is Pods. I know they aren't sold on Moody, but we have enough shooting guards / wings.

Great analysis, PELsu ... thank you so much.

Agree with everything you said in the third paragraph.
