Early 2009 Preseason Rankings

So far I've seen three preseason polls with LSU as high as 4.
On ESPN we are 9
On Rivals we are 5 (behind FLA, TEX, USC, OU)

Just my opinion but we are getting overrated next year. IMO we should be 10-20 based on this year's results and what we return.

i didnt even know they came out with polls this early, not that it matters right now

We'll definitley have a better season and more then likely win the west. Hopefully jj we'll be able to step up and pick up right where he left off in the peach bowl and lead us to BCS bowl.

I'm really happy to see all of this national respect that we're getting...but I'm a little confused. After the Arky game, the Sagarin rankings had us #44. We were ranked behind Navy! We were even ranked behind James Madison...from the friggin FCS!
The win against GT was very impressive and showed what we are capable of, but to go from where we were at the end of Nov to a possible top 5 preseason ranking just seems a little baffling.
But hey, we have the talent to live up to it, so what do I know?

I would agree that the national (East or West coast) simply do not recognize or respect LSU football.
As soon as the NC was awarded, the media abandoned the LSU story.
That is never the case w/ a Nat'l Champ USC, ND or the current Florida team.

We should be ranked #2 behind Florida. LSU and Florida will dominate their divisions and play in the SEC Championship. 2009 Alabama was a flash in the pan. They will have zero quarterback talent for the forseeable futrue. Julio will wilt on the vine. The gumps will implode when Ole Miss hands them their arse in Oxford.
