to offer Orgeron the title of recruiting co-ordinator, running the risk of not landing him and pissing off henson, who is about to bring in the #1 ranked recruiting class? If it's true that Henson is bolting to Missouri, who replaces him?

LSU is coming off a tough season and Miles knew he needed to make a splash during the off-season bringing in some good assistants. You obviously need a thick skin in this profession, because your replacement isn't very far behind. Coach O is an excellent recruiter and it was at least worth an attempt IMO. It almost worked except the Kiffin's came in at the last minute and made an offer he couldn't refuse.

You think maybe, just maybe, the guy would have left to coach not only tight ends, but the entire offensive line, not to mention that its closer to home. Recruiting coordinator is more of a pain in the arse than anything.

I don't know about football but in Baseball they do almost everything. The head coach would make a occansional phone call and just meet with players when they come on visits. That's why trust is important.

I would imagine Henson didn't mind too much. He knows LSU is serious about football and will do what it takes to get better.

I think Pilot should set up his own fundraising portal through this thread. It's clear that any comments from him should be viewed as coming from the Burning Bush as he apparently is all knowing. Just the opportunity to view his postings MUST be worth $$. Maybe one day we'll all be as privy to inside information as he.
