They just put out the census report last week showing Louisiana losing 1.4% of its population.

Census Bureau just released state population totals for all 50 states. Listed below are the 2024 state population totals including the % of growth/loss for each state from 04/01/2020 to 04/01/2024 for SEC states. The number ranking indicates where each state ranks nationally in 2024 population:

#3) Florida - 23,372,215 (+8.24%)
#8) Georgia - 11,180,878 (+4.17%)

#23) South Carolina - 5,478,831 (+6.75%)
#24) Alabama - 5,157,699 (+2.48%)
#25) Louisiana - 4,597,740 (-1.17%) *
#26) Kentucky - 4,588,372 (+1.78%)

People who did well in the real estate market in Texas moving back to the lower property taxes of Louisiana.
