I’m sure several on here have read this book. For those that haven’t I would tell you to ask for it next Christmas or your birthday. Or just buy it for someone you know that enjoys reading and the outdoors. My mom got an autographed copy for my dad this Xmas. I found a quiet room for a few hours after lunch today and read most of it. It’s tough to put down.

I’ve read it. Dr Peck still has descendants in. Sicily Island. Interesting read.

He has some good audio on YouTube under canebrakes. Lots of stories from old articles.

I’ll have to order it.

I just started Wild Sports in The Far West by Frederick Gerstaecker today. Seems to be the same time period, but this is the diary of German who came to Arkansas to hunt bear and deer.

McCafferty was supposed to be writing on Hill family. Wasn’t sure if there were any updates.
