Getting there on December 20th for a Christmas cruise, things to check out before we depart? We leave for the cruise on the 23rd.

We might be on the same cruise. DCL?

We are flying in early AM on 22nd and headed to Magic Kingdom since it's been about 5 years since we've been.

Last time we were in Orlando for a cruise we spent the day at Disney Springs.

Are you staying at the Hyatt Hotel in the airport?

If you want a little Disney without paying for park tickets, go to Disney Springs for dinner and to hang out. Or, get reservations at a Disney hotel restaurant. You don't need a park ticket to go to hotel restaurants.

We did Universal on NYD 2022 before our cruise and had a blast.

No, we are doing the Royal Caribbean cruise. That would’ve been awesome if we were on the same though! We will check out Disney springs though.

Trying to do the parks on the weekend before Christmas will be a living nightmare, but they are really well decorated during the holidays.

Grew up in that region and lived in Orlando for 12 years. Guess you have to decide what you want to do like tourist stuff versus something else. Obviously Disney or Universal Studios. Driving over to the beach, seeing Cape Canaveral. Depending on the weather, Central Florida has several nice springs you can go visit. If the weather is warm enough, you could possibly kayak or even tube. Done it in December! Look for Wekiva Springs or Rock Springs. You can’t do any water activities on Blue Springs this time of year. You could drive over there. Near Sanford. They have the manatee population usually in the run. Beautiful setting. It has nice hiking and it’s unique to see these gorgeous creatures.

Orlando has a lot of things to do centered around Christmas if that's something you are looking for.

The city of Orlando's marketing actually has a website with bunch of information (I hate the site layout, but it does have just about everything)

There is a Space X launch scheduled for the night of the 20th. That's a cool thing to see.

If you don't want to spend a lot of money and the weather is good, there are some cool towns along the coast that will be decked out for the Holidays. Cocoa Village, Melbourne, and Vero Beach. They won't be terribly exciting, but you can work on your tank and relax a bit.

I live in Vero, and beach parking is easy, the botanical gardens is nice, the performing arts center has free live bands on Th,/Fr/Sa nights in a neat setup with cocktails and food available. Inside, there is a comedy club.

A decent hotel on the ocean in Vero will probably cost you less than $200/night.
