Wow an awful lot of people defend Ali's extremist beliefs regarding white people, I don't think anyone ever owned him as a slave, or any of the other things he talks about. But it's ok for him to say those things, yet not interviewing a black candidate for a coaching postion is racist. It's gone too far. Everybody is a victim of something and is entitled to something because of it. Bunch of pussies one and all. Life is hard. Their are many successful people of all races that didn't sit on their asses, whining and complaining of being held down because of their race. Those complainers and whiners are the ones who should be ashamed. MLK was preaching that if you want respect, be respectable, improve yourself, do something positive. He would be ashamed of the whiners too. Any time race is mentioned in any way, shape, or form, as part of a decision, good or bad, it's racist, no matter how you dress it up. It needs to just stop.

Those beliefs weren't uncommon among black people, I'd imagine, and there is a history of why those people felt that way. Some still do.

Are you telling me that there are no black coaches out there that are interested in becoming a head coach?

Are you saying there haven't been inequalities that exist between the dominant culture and minorities?

People are terribly miseducated about MLK. He was so radical at that time, they killed him. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are alive and well today.

MLK was about to launch a major campaign that would have called for a massive redistribution of wealth in this country about the time he was killed. Anti-discrimination laws were just one part of what he wanted to accomplish.
