In the Era of 12 teams. Buckeye fans need to relax. Still got the playoffs ahead of you, and wouldn't be surprised if You win it all

I think he's a good coach but not elite. He's done pretty well but can't get over the hump of beating Michigan and hasn't done well in big games. We've had plenty of talent and his inability to utilize it is what holds him back. Its mental.

He started his career on 3rd base and score.

Don't ever say that again. You've gone off the deep end.

Ryan Day came to Ohio State in 2017 as OC and he's never seen Ohio State lose to Penn State since he's been employed by Ohio State. Closing in on a decade of beating Pedo State's arse.

I agree with this take. He gets too uptight for the UM game.

Its the big10. the SEC will always be the best conference top to bottom. all other conferences are very top heavy, and 9/10 do not fair well against SEC schools.

It’s pretty much it. He’s too far bought in to this whole toughness narrative that it breaks his brain and completely wrecks games.

Their gameplan on Saturday was to run the ball at Michigan’s only defensive strength with 2 first round DT talents.

And their only TD drive was when they went up tempo and aired the ball out. Then Jeremiah Smith had 0 targets in the second half.

Day and Kelly literally deployed the worst offensive gameplan I have seen in years and it’s the reason they lost.

It was mind boggling. Michigan’s “toughness” narrative is engrained deep in Day’s brain. Brilliant strategy by them because it was their best chance at winning, and it worked. Day was hell bent on winning the rushing battle when we all knew that was not happening, and didn’t need to happen to win vs this Michigan team. Freaking embarrassing.

This made me laugh.

This is the most surprising win since we've started watching Michigan football. Ohio State probably wins easily if they just play their game but they played too conservatively. WE IOWA'D THEM. It was a little windy :( Michigan didn't get to knock them out of the playoff but now they have to regroup and win four playoff games instead of three. They should've gotten that QB that went to Syracuse. Ryan Day's insecurities are coming back to haunt him and they snowballed in this game, he's never had to learn how to lose. Ohio State is 10-2 and their fans are miserable.

Ohio State could do a little better than Ryan Day, but a lot worse.

Seems like an unnecessary thread.

He’s currently on the Les Miles trajectory. He’ll have great teams that can’t win it all & will eventually get fired if he can’t beat their #1 rival

It wasn’t the worst in years, it was the worst in my lifetime and it’s not close in my opinion. This beats the ‘96 loss to Michigan (Shawn Springs slip) and ‘98 to Sparty and I never thought I would say that. 2015 to Sparty was bad too but it was a monsoon that day and our OC Wariner was a lug nut.

Hard to argue against that.

I just saw a post on 11W that basically summarized Day against Michigan. It was the 3rd and 9 call in the 3rd quarter right after the Downs INT.

They called a draw right at Mason Graham, who had a 1 on 1 vs. Tegra. Guess who won that matchup and completely blew up the play? It’s like running the ball at a top tier DT is dumb.

Kelly’s and Day’s ineptitude from Saturday just gets sadly hilarious the more I look at it.
