Is it doable?

Flying into Brussels to meet a friend and from there Switzerland, Paris, Italy and back.

Sure. Just don’t try to slam too many stopovers in each country or you’ll do nothing but travel.

It would be very rushed but you could probably do it. It would also help if you could swing an open jaw flight home from your final destination instead of returning to Brussels.

Belgium is a compact country that is well-serviced by regional trains. You could base yourself in Brussels or Ghent for three days and see most of what interests you (Bruges, Antwerp, etc.)

Paris is a 1.5 hour train ride from Belgium on the Eurostar. Paris needs at least three or four days to scratch the highlights. Don't leave the city center except for maybe a visit to Versailles in the suburbs.

For Switzerland, head straight for the Alps via high speed trains for spectacular views and hiking. Other parts of the country are worth visiting but not on a whirlwind itinerary. I would base in Interlaken/Jungfrau but Zermatt and Lucerne are also possibilities. Everything in Switzerland is insanely expensive so just prepare yourself for that. Look into short term Swiss rail passes or half-fair cards to get around.

The final leg is a problem. Italy is a big and diverse country. You can't do it justice in 3-5 days. I would recommend going to Munich instead and saving Italy for another trip. If you really want to do Italy after Switzerland, you could hit Lake Como, Verona and Venice as one night stands. But I don't think you would have time for Florence/Tuscany and Rome.

Brussels and Paris are doable as a duo, Brussels is kinda a shithole (think Philly, Detroit or Baltimore of Western Europe), but it seems that’s your one set stop, my advice is do Brussels + 1 or max 2 other Belgian cities (Bruge, Gent, Antwerp, Leuven and Dinant could all he options here) - for this 3/4 days should suffice.

You’ll probably want bare minimum 3 full days (or 2.5 rushing a bit) for Paris, benefit here is that it’s connected to Brussels by the Eurostar hi-speed trainline.

Past that I’d pick one more spot to focus on and spend 3-4 days, probably taking an intra-EU flight out of Brussels or Paris - so pick a city (or 2) for Switzerland (e.g. Zurich + Luzern) or one city/area of Italy for example (Verona/Lake Garda as mentioned, Florence or Bologna would be great options).

Is it doable? Yes.

Would that be my recommendation? Not necessarily.

Where do you want to go in Italy?
Italy is right up there with my favorite vacation destinations, but you could easily spend two weeks or more just in Italy. I would save Italy for next time.

Don't make too many stops.

Paris is the obvious choice from Brussels. Then Switzerland would be fine.

You may want to consider just staying on the Eurostar line with some combination of Brussels, Paris, London and/or Amsterdam.

It will be rushed but doable. If you’ve never been I wouldn’t recommend taking that all on.

But if it’s your only chance then do it all.

Looks like the recommendation is to skip Italy for next time.

When is this planned for? Why are you going back to Brussels?

I am not going back to Brussels, will fly out of Paris or Munich. My revised plan based on suggestions is Belgium, Switzerland, Paris, Munich and fly back. That seems doable.

Are you doing this order? Its not good at all if so.

I'd highly suggest going in a directional order so you don't have to double back. Something like Belgium, Paris, Munich, Switzerland.
