Well, which is it?

Mom 'canceling' Thanksgiving after hosting cost $500

Cheaper turkeys help bring down Thanksgiving dinner costs this year

quote:

Thanksgiving dinner will cost less this year than last but will still be 19% higher than before the pandemic, according to the American Farm Bureau Federation’s annual Thanksgiving survey out Wednesday.

The average cost of this year’s dinner for 10 people is $58.08, or about $5.80 per person, the survey found. That’s a 5% drop from 2023.

Pretty sure none of that ends up costing that much. Also there's this video of this woman going to Dollar Tree with a $20 to make something that comes close to resembling a Thanksgiving dinner for unfortunate folks.

It’s over $150 for just a ham and a turkey!

And of course they use a sistah as the subject. I have a feeling she doesn't make the best financial decisions. Plus she should be canceling multiple meals based on how she looks.

Last week Publix had 10 pound turkeys for $5. Not per pound, for the whole turkey.

Potatoes to boil and mash, Stovetop stuffing two boxes, some dinner rolls, and a few cans of green beans/cream of mushroom soup with the French's fried onions for a casserole, two cans of cranberry sauce, and even splurge on a premade pumpkin pie from the deli for $7.99, easily under $58 for ten people.

Yep. We also got 1/2 ham and it was $100 plus taxes. How the hell do you make an entire thanksgiving meal for 10 people under $60?
