The wife and I have a getaway planned for tomorrow through Wednesday in Frederickberg, TX. Thinking about leaving a day early (today) to make travel easier. I'm guessing Houston would be a good stopping point along the way. Any must stay places if stopping just for a night in/around Houston?? What say thee board

It's only a 7 hour drive from Lafayette. We go often and usually leave around 6:00 or 7:00 am.

A gas stop and a food/gas stop, just so you’re not coasting in on fumes. We drove from the MS coast to Atlanta two weekends ago and to Orlando last weekend. Helps to swap drivers, but on the way there it’s not necessary.

Somewhere around 9 hours is catch a flight time.

We got here yesterday. Stopped at Buc-ees in Katy to stretch our legs and topped off the tank and then stopped a couple hours later for lunch.

We usually leave early enough to have lunch at Alstadt Brewery (Castle).
