So I went to renew my hunting license and noticed the “Deer Permit” is now $100. That’s in addition to the $300 all game.

Ya'll should just stop coming and buying up all the land and leases.

That would really show 'em!

My parents own property in SW Miss where they live. I’ve been hunting there for 30 years. Here’s the fricked up part, one day when I own the property, I WILL STILL HAVE TO PURCHASE NON RESIDENT

What will really piss you off is realizing the deer permit used to be cheaper and was increased to pay for the new velvet season that no one gives a single shite about.

Y'all can kiss my arse after what I pay every year to fish in LA waters 10 miles due south of my MS launch.

ETA: or the also increased out state (5 day minimum, I think) cost to hunt 2 days every year for early teal.

It goes both ways and they don't care what we think.

Mid 90’s-2015 I hunted SW MS. It was $300 back then. Its always been about LA fishing vs MS hunting. Discourages hunting but they know people will pay it. In addition to the tax revenue from gas, groceries etc

So to Deer hunt primitive and cluck for a turkey is $525? whats the fine for hunting without it? Not that I condone that or anything

If you own land you should be exempt. You are paying taxes and insurance as much as the resident neighbor

How many states allow this though? I genuinely don't know. I'm guessing zero.

Not only should a landowner be exempt but ALL landowners should be exempt of ANY hunting license. Resident or not

No clue but the free American in me thinks if I was a nonresi landowner “i bought the soil, pay the annual taxes, insure it with a MS business, buy crap for it that MS takes in sales tax when I live there and have to manage from a far and all the poaching/thievery bs I have to deal with that i get no help from local leo/game warden” that i should have a break
