First trip to Gainesville: thoughts

Fans were oddly friendly. Atmosphere truly felt like they did not expect to win, so I think there might have been a sense of complacency within their fans. Ended up going to a UF tailgate and everyone there was fairly nice. Surprised at the lack of jorts.
Game itself was run fairly well even though some of their chants are cheesy but that was to be expected. Fans were really into it. Once the sun went down the crowd got really rowdy. I hate Tom Petty now. Stadium DJ and band trolled LSU so hard as the game went on.
It truly felt like Florida won the Superbowl after the game. Can't blame them since they've had a bad season. Leaving the stadium was a shite show and traffic was only marginally better than LSU contraflow. Maybe we'll go back when both teams are ranked and get a different atmosphere.

Also my first trip. Same thing about the fans - much better than expected. A few UF fans congratulated me on the 2018-2023 run. I knew it had to come to an end too but didn’t think it would be last night.
The jorts - I also expected more. It’s like they traded them in for the orange and blue striped overalls.
I also understand what Saban was saying when he implied that UF needs upgraded facilities to keep up in the arms race. Maybe we didn’t see the right part of campus but nothing looked like it had a facelift since it was built.
Edit - after a flag, the chants were cheesy bad. “You suck. Back it up!” was elementary.
But the DJ playing Boosie’s “Set it Off” right before time expired during the last TO made me smile. Didn’t notice any other trolling by him otherwise.

Band played Neck multiple times. They started playing Boosie towards the end. A few other smartly timed songs.

Gives them a legit shot at a bowl game and possibly a winning season. The senior class of UF students haven’t seen a winning football season, which is a little crazy to think about.

The “Jumbotron” said “Anyone who rushes the field will be arrested.” And they reminded everyone multiple times. After all the years we’ve heard about Florida police being ticket happy, this makes sense that their fans weren’t about to FAFO.
There also was a huge police presence behind the LSU bench that prevented the ppl who initially started moving toward the sidelines. Don’t know if it was like that around the entire stadium.

Students below the Florida band were definitely ready to rush and had been for about 10 minutes. Everyone else was in their seats.

I mean, we won on a final play of the game in epic fashion. Didn't lead the game until that moment. A field rush was definitely not unexpected.
