I've done a fair amount of offshore fishing in the Gulf out of Fourchon and Venice. Looking to plan a trip to a destination with plenty of action with multiple species.
What's the best month and US destination to target Mahi, Wahoo, Tuna, and possibly sails in the same trip? Really looking for lots of action on any of the above. Tuna is the lowest priority species, as we've done really well multiple times with them.

Accomplished this all with Maverick sportfishing in costa Rica in the month of April. Not US, I know.

Sorry you only want to limit this to the USA. I would maybe pick islamorada in the summer. I went with nick stanz a few years back and caught big mahi, a sword, and some barrelfish. Wonderful time. The second day I brought my kid to the reef and caught yellowtail snapper and mangroves every cast till we were flat wore out.

Outside the USA, check out guatemala. I fish with Chris Starrs. Last november I went solo. Caught 62 sails on conventional, 2 on fly, and numerous dorado. The mates had to reel in the multiple hookups LOL. I have been going every year since 2013. This is by far my favorite destination, and if you have 4 people, very affordable compared to other destinations like costa rica or panama. Check it out! I'll be headed back next week with 3 good old boys I met down there last year from the carolinas.

Had a friend deckhand a boat in Guatemala for a summer and said the sailfishing was downright silly.

I’d really like to do a Panama trip one day

Ok, you've just expanded my horizons. I'll be looking further into Guatemala.
