Of course you need to be registered to not tamper with the primaries, but would tossing that out during the general election be feasible to prevent tampering?

I see lots of votes being denied the last few elections

There won’t be if you haven’t declared one. Have you?

I don't register for a party in TN. You can only vote in one primary but you don't have to register as any one party, so, in theory, you could change which primary you want to vote in each cycle. Locally, it makes sense because in my county, for instance, there won't be any democrats running for various positions. So if you're a democrat and want to vote in a primary that will inevitably be the only election for a local elected official, you still can.

In Texas we are not registered to a party and there are no Rep or Dem voting booths. In the primaries, you choose which party you want to vote for, but you can switch up every year, even depending on if there is a particular race you want to influence. In the general, you aren't affiliated with a party.

The best advice my mom ever gave me was to register as "No Party". Since Louisiana has open primaries it hasn't stopped me from voting.
