I think the alternating QB's every series hurt Shep. Barkley played a lot, and played many back to back to back series. I agree that his o-line struggled, ESPECIALLY THE CENTER, it seemed to me as though he was picking up snaps from his feet the whole game. I thought he would be one of those guys that ran at the first sign of trouble, but he hung in the pocket, sometimes seemingly forever, and took a couple of knocks. All in all I was impressed, he'll get his shot at QB and that's all he's said he's wanted all along was a chance to prove what he can do.
As far as Barkley, he put up better stats, but threw at least a few more gimme picks that don't show up on the stat-line because they were dropped by the black defense. He threw a quick slant that the kid took for 71 yards. I'm not saying hes' not good, he is, but to those that think he's light years better as a QB need to quit looking at the stat line and watch the whole game. He made quite a few questionable throws that could have changed the game if anyone in the black secondary could catch.

Barkley didn't have to face Loston.
Just trying to see what it's like to be a homer.

Practicing for 1 week with an offensive unit hurt shep. If you are trying to draw an assesment of a player based on this game you are pissing in the wind. You might could judge hustle, heart, athletic ability and maybee arm strength but you cannot watch this game and accurately asess any of these players accuracy, timing, leadership, poise, and ability to manage an offense.
I don't think any more or any less of Shep based on what I saw in the UA game and honestly nobody else should. That long touchdown pass was nice though.
