I think Perkins is a superior athlete to what replaced him...but I also think that there was so much damn confusion over his identity, that he was squandered. Now, Weeks has stepped up as a complete badass LB...without worrying about where to put him...that it has made our defense that much better....

I think at this point, Baker would have settled on a role for Perkins, and the defense would be better than it is.

It’s obviously this, but the counter argument is asking if we would have ever gotten to see what Weeks can do if Perk’s ACL is still in tact? Not sure about that.

I’m not even sure this is true. Freshman Perk was a freak athlete. Once he bulked up he seemed to have lost all quickness.

They played with high energy all nigh regardless of what the score was. They were focused and played hard.

100% night and day.

By halftime they found an identity and look like they are having fun finally playing together.

Even had we lost tonight, that defense actually became fun to watch, holy shite they looked really well coached and finally confident in the positions.

Look we may be missing some pieces back there but with this type of play calling and designed blitz schemes we can start giving teams trouble the whole game.

Let’s see if they can duplicate that success at Arky.

Bakers defense works better not having to scheme around Perk’s strengths. Is what it is. That entire secondary played the game of their lives, Zy made himself some money tonight

Absofukinglutely. I feel bad about homeboys injury but we weren’t going anywhere with him out there.

All the players worried about was playing around him and letting him do his thing.

This is a better brand of team football now.
