If Shep had committed THIS weekend we'd all be ecstatic

Sometimes the problem with recruiting is that you get most excited about the guys who wait to commit and you forget about the ones that have committed already.
If Shep had committed tonight, we would not have worried too much about Debose. We'd be jumping up and down.
If we had just gotten Michael Ford, Drayton Calhoun, Chris Davenport, and Janzen Jackson this weekend, we'd think that we were pulling in the #1 recruiting class in America.
Oh wait. We are.
Overall, the board has taken this news well. We just need to recognize that the guys who wait to commit are no better than the guys that have already committed.
Great class! Way to go Coach Miles and staff!
By the way, I think that Calhoun could be our Percy Harvin type. Doesn't he run in the 4.3's?

I agree and even though debose may be the best slot guy in America, Calhoun is one fast guy and so is bell. If we get randle this class of WR will be great
2 wide outs- randle and Benton
2 slot guys- bell and Calhoun

+1
I still wanted debose, could have cared less with the other 3 or 4 committs.

Or if Loston would have committed tonight last or after Debose we would have felt better. Your right. Texas and OSU dont get alot hype at games like this becuase they get so many commits early. With Kids who want ono the field attention not at the podium making an announcement.

agree completely...the reason we didn't get commits this weekend is because we got commits much earlier than usual....Lesticles smartly capitalized on our NC title to stack up a list of commits early on that has the rest of the country drueling....

You are making too much sense. Shouldn't we spend time commenting on how high school kids speak and look? Then, we can express indignation that anyone wouldn't want to play for a fan base like ours.
A school's fan base as a factor in recruiting is overrated. The UA thread (with some exceptions) is evidence as to why we are lucky that it is.

Outstanding - and I encourage anyone who is feeling bad that we aren't getting a lot of catches late, go and look at our commitment list, one at a time, not as a group. Very, very solid and potentially great players from top to bottom.
We are at #1, right now, with only 21 recruits. Last year, Alabama was #1 with 33 (of course they only count the best 25, but still).
Even without another commitment, it is arguably the best LSU recruiting class, ever.
