The problem with this site

First, let me just say that this is easily the best source of good info on recruits that you will find on the web. Especially for LSU fans. But the problem is that with the exception of the random fan from other schools, who are usually ridiculed for being bias toward their school, or sometimes just being objective, we are all die hard LSU fans. Meaning that we all wear our P&G glasses when talking about these recruits, thinking that we can get every guy, reading into all his quotes to find ways to think he's going to lsu. Don't get me wrong, there are some non biased "experts" on here, but there views are drowned out by the many lsu fans who put in their two cents when they really shouldn't. What i'm saying is that in order for a more accurate read on these recruits, if you are not in the know, just post your opinions and hopes and wishes, don't try to be providing info that will make us think we have more of a shot than we do.

I agree 100%... this is the best free site there is... but when something is free you get what you pay for

I agree. Another problem with this site is there are too many people named BayouBengal(insert number here).

Actually, I have to disagree. There is quite a bit of non-biased reporting here. People report what they read on other boards and they give all sides. People are also quite pessimistic.
I had a pretty good idea that Debose was going to Florida before the announcement. I got it from this board and Tigerforums, which also has a good recruiting board.
LSU fans are generally the MOST balanced of any fan base I have seen. We tell it like we see it, even if that means we are negative towards our team. Please tell me another fanbase or message board like that.

When LSU rivals and scout and DD and several posters think we have a very good shot at Debose, then that raises the expectation level
When it doesn't happen, it's a dissappointment..
Nobody has a feel on Randle at all

I wouldn't say that. You guys have the most active board I know of for the SEC, and that comes with a very active LSU fan base on line. This leads to a lot of homer comments and a lot of you guys end up with a better feeling with recruits than the chance LSU actually has. Debose is a great example.
"Debose has a Jan. 24 visit to USC, another visit to UF later this month and a visit to Miami...He's not going to LSU at all. He said that he got really close to the LSU coaching staff over the last few weeks, and it was "the hardest decision of my life" to say no to them, but in the end "I had to do what was best for me...and that was Florida." ....Feel free to spread that on the LSU boards..I have the audio files to prove it :P"

Everyone can read scout and rivals...but not everyone gets the rumors about someone knowing someone's relative and what not...thats what makes this message board unique

You contradicted yourself between your first statement and the quote from Debose. Debose himself said that we had an excellent chance and it went right down to the end. That is all that was reflected on this board. Many feel that he gave LSU coaches a silent committ and then changed at the end. The last few days, that was reflected on this board.
Actually, I think that this board is very accurate. Take Randle, for example. Everyone is saying that he is headed to LSU but this board won't buy it until we hear it from him. We're very pessimistic, actually. Not nearly as much homerism as on other boards. There, if you spout a dissenting opinion, you are banned.

Exactly, that is my point. He was not a verbal commit. People on this board read into too many articles and dig for quotes that try to pin players into being an LSU lean. The truth was Debose never committed to LSU.
Believe me I'm on this board more than I am Florida boards. I know how great this board is and wish Florida had one like it. This is definitely one of the best sources of recruiting news, but there is no doubt some P&G glasses on.

Well, of course there are P&G glasses on. It is an LSU site. I was just responding to you seeming to say that LSU didn't really have a shot at Debose. He said himself that it was a difficult decision and that seemed to be reflected here.
Anyway, I agree that there are idiots here, thus the term "ranter." But, for recruiting information, this board has been pretty solid. When signs were pointing for Campbell and Debose to come here, it was reported. But, prior to their commitments, when signs pointed toward Michigan and Florida, that was reported as well. That doesn't seem like homerism to me. That is all I'm saying.

Agreed. With Debose, people were saying Shep guaranteed and then Garrett said we got a 5 star receiver. With 17 and 18 year old kids, they change their mind like their underwear. Did you actually think Debose would pick LSU in Florida? Give me a break. I wanted to believe, but figured it would be either Miami or Florida. Don't see the fasination with Florida though, ain't shite to do in Gainesville.
