This might not be the right place for this, but it involves money so I'll give it a go. So my employer does not offer insurance. So I currently give Medishare about 450 a month for really nothing. No yearly visits covered, no dental, no vision. Basically if I come close to dying it will help. I try seeking out plans online then I spend the next 3 months getting flooded scam calls.

So I guess I'm asking what do people use for medical insurance when they own their own business or their employer isn't required to offer it.

going through this now. Left a company with great benefits (i was paying $300 for me, wife, 3 kids BCBSLA insane plan) to become a partner at a startup.

i went to obamacare marketplace for the first time ever and if you are making over about 80k a year, you will pay like 1900 a month for TRASH coverage.

i found an independent rep who sells for United Healthcare. one annual physical, 3 dr visits, $6300 individual deductible and 18k family. it's 1200 a month. more than i pay for a mortgage. It all makes me sick.

All that to say, good luck

Where do u live? ACA costs can wildly vary. I checked for where I live in GA; Atlanta suburb.

If I put in that household income is $175k with wife and 3 kids. I'm seeing plans as low as $700/month. If I change income to $125k, I see plans as low as $240/month.

I've actually used ACA for a couple years and had no issues seeing doctors or specialists and had great coverage. Not all my old doctors were in network but I just saw new doctors.

This link lets u see costs without actually applying
