My son and I are going to the LIV tournament on Saturday the 21st. I'm not a huge LIV fan but I like Bryson and want to see him play and its a little less than 3 hours from where we live so what the heck, were going. We also want to play a round while we are there.

Here are the courses we've already played:
Tour 18
The Tribute
Stevens Park
Dallas Cowboys
The Bridges
Pine Dunes/ It's on the way home

Here is the list of contenders:
Golf Club at Fossil Creek
Waterchase Golf Club
Texas Star
Texas Rangers Golf Club

Out of the list of contenders or any other not on the list, which would you choose?

All of the contenders are solid courses. They play a Korn Ferry qualifier at the Texas Rangers course some years. If they put the pin in the front on either hole 17 or 18 (I forget which one), you'll absolutely want to murder the greenskeeper.

Waterchase is a course that requires you to keep your tee shot in play. It's not incredibly narrow per se, but your tee shot really dictates your GIR there I've found.

I would say Fossil Creek is my least favorite of those courses, and I would choose Waterchase if I could only play one of the courses.

Any reason why PGA Frisco isn’t on the list?

Played out there a couple months ago. Both courses are fun and it’s a great facility. Play a round on either course, grab some food and drinks at the ice house, then hit the par 3 and putting courses.

Have played all of those courses. It has been 2+ years since I have played any of them but Waterchase. It seems like it will be somewhat out of the way for you but it is a hidden gem somewhat. Last time I played it was $55 and in phenomenal conditions with a quick round. The others were good but can’t speak on them as of late.

I liked the Rangers course better than the Cowboys course. Pretty fun layout. Not sure on condition right now though, I want to say I saw someone on here talk about their fairways not being the best/really dried out. Wasn't the case when I was there though.

A lot of waterchase recommendations and i couldn't agree more. One of the most fun and nice courses in town, with a great price point.

the club house is not anything to write home about, but it is a great course.

And put Tierra Verde on your list. Great spot as well.

Fossil Creek is in really good shape for the price, or at least it was a year ago when I went. I may have just had back luck and gotten behind slow people, but its taken us 6+ hours twice solely because their Marshalls didn't do anything to enforce the pace of play. The first time I know the Marshall didn't do anything because I said something in the clubhouse when we finished, and the GM apologized and said the problem was a 6 group tournament, and how they didn't talk to them until they finished. And that's when they found out 90% of them couldn't break 100 and they didn't scramble or do anything to speed things up. They gave me a card for a free green fee so I gave them another chance and it was basically the same thing. I think they jam pack the course and the Marshalls don't address groups holding everyone up.

We played the Texas Rangers Golf Club two weeks ago and it was great. It was in really good condition. Pretty open and not as challenging if that sways you in one direction or the other.

We got paired up with a man and his wife at Fossil one time and they played so freaking slow. There were groups waiting on us and they were playing grab arse the whole time and I was getting frustrated. Finally the marshal caught up to us and gave us a well deserved warning but it wasn't me and my buddy causing the delay. The couple decided to give it up around the 12th hole and we picked up the pace after that. I don't play there often, but now that you mention it, it has been slow going a few times there.
