i am surprised the BCS has stepped in to call Muss to task on talking up split titles while announcing BCS games..

There won't be a split national championship this year I highly doubt it. Maybe between Oklahoma/Texas, but if Florida wins they will be undisputed national champions.

how is it relevant? they removed themselves from the championship process. they have less to do with declaring the national title than jeff sagarin.
if you're USC or Texas, you should have sounded off loud and proud about how a playoff is utterly necessary in 2004 and 2005, instead of now when you feel like you're on the short end of the BCS.

I'm surprised at this too...but then again, we all know the Rose Bowl isn't REALLY part of the BCS.

did anyone hear before the game, "here is usc, playing in their annual rose bowl"? and what do you know, their sucky band was featured at halftime. go figure
