Rewatched the game w/o commentary… some initial thoughts.

1. Emory had the hot hand… the RB rotation didn’t make sense.
2. Outside rushes (toss, stretch, sweep) were extremely effective and could have taken the weight off of the interior O-line.
3. Playcalling in the second half was nonsensically cowardly. Lacy was removed from the game plan, even when USC had 8 in the box.
4. The tight ends were underutilized… bunch packages were used sparingly, making short yardage downs ridiculously predictable. USC was daring LSU to throw or Nuss to pull it, and the tigers collectively shite the bed.
5. Blaming the defense is a terrible take. The only way to rationalize this is if you have no respect for Lincoln Riley as a play caller or think USC is talent-deficient. Both are inane. His offenses are top 10 every season, and they have serious talent at wide receiver.
6. The defense kept LSU in the game despite the offense’s failure to execute.
7. Miller Moss had a heisman-like performance in that he overcame adversity and performed when it mattered. When he’s in New York at the end of the year, this game will be a big part of it.
8. Nuss had his moments throughout and was given multiple opportunities to shine, but he couldn’t capitalize when it mattered due to mental errors and poor coaching.
9. It’s remarkable it was as close as it was given the amount of penalties LSU committed.
10. The loss rests on the shoulders of BK. However, this team is struggling with things his previous teams haven’t dealt with—namely, discipline. If they clean that up, along with the situational play calling, this could be an awesome season.

This team is poorly disciplined.

Pretty much agree with you except for this. We have a history of making every QB we play against look like a Heisman candidate

Agreed. I thought the same almost about everything you mentioned.
One of the things that just actually irks me is the lack of designed screen plays to the running back. It was evident that they were blitzing almost every down. Why not draw that blitz and make them pay? That shite was unbelievable to me. USC was attacking our weak spots, yet we were playing offense to their strong suits. Man just annoying but the season is not over. People already giving up are tucked tail puss balls

I agree with most of your points but all of these comments about Miller Moss are killing me. Maybe he does continue performing at a high level and makes it to New York, BUT this board also said KJ Costello would put up Joe Burrow type numbers after week 1 just a few years back.

Nuss has 2 carries in his last 140 snaps for -12 yards. USC realized during the game that he wasn't taking off and dared him too. USC won that dare. Other good teams will do it too. If Nuss doesn't decide to take off a few times per game, he is going to handicap himself and the offense in crunch time. Even slow QBs run every once in a while to pick up a few yards and move the chains when needed.

No chance Miller Moss is in NY

We tried to force the run in the 2nd half and it killed the offense’s rhythm.

Hot take. Learn to spell Emery.

Getting 2 stops in a row in the fourth quarter of a tied game, against a high powered offense, is quite literally all you can ask for coming off a generationally bad season last year

Yep. Williams was bad.

Inexcusable.

Miller Moss is a stud and we still should have won, if not easily. Wasn't on the D.

Pump the brakes a bit lol.

Bruh, Lincoln Riley makes a heisman candidate out of every QB he touches. As a head coach, prior to this year, he has had 5 starting QBs. 3 won heismans, 4 were in new York for the ceremony. The lone QB that didn't end up in New York, was beat out by a true freshman, future heisman winner and #1 overall pick.
I'll side with Miller Moss being pretty good.

Miller Moss has all of the tools, including a coach with a history of developing heisman contenders. If USC goes 9-3 or better, he’ll be in New York barring injury.

Well thought out but need to add #11, stretch the field 3-4 times per game to get the defense on their heels.
