Brian Kelly’s OVER confidence hurts them at time.

Listening to Moscona today & he said same thing.
Kelly is confident. That’s a great characteristic to have. And his confidence bleeds over to team (see Campbell’s comment).
Example; 1) If he wins the toss, he often takes the ball. I don’t know the math on it but Moscona explained how mathematically it doesn’t work out. But he keeps doing it. He is trying to display to his offense that he has confidence in them but if they don’t score, puts them behind the 8 ball.
2) He also tried to score a TD instead of going for the FG. And that 3 would have. Helped them. He has a tendency to play bold…be a river-boat gambler and many times it hurts rather than help.

Taking the ball first by choice is and always will be stupid

Yeah.
There aren’t many things more demoralizing to an opponent that scoring at the end of the first half then getting the ball and scoring to start the second half.
There is no good reason to start on offense if you win the coin toss

Same exact thing as last year.
We take the ball, drive down the field fairly easily, collapse in the red zone, then we don't take the points.
It felt like deja vu.

My assumption is he had more faith in the offense to be productive first drive than our defense without halftime scheme adjustments
If you think defense struggles you want them out after halftime with adjustments from Baker
Tom Brady always said "doubling up" going into half is the biggest advantage in the sport tho so that's why you're supposed to defer

Don’t it happen in his first year too?
Or maybe we went for 3 and missed, can’t quite remember
But I do know that in all 3 BK years, we drove to the red zone on the first drive of the season and have zero points to show for it

No, kicked a 36 yard FG his first year.
