Yamaha F90 starter issue, possibly solenoid?

Good morning, gents. Hadn’t run my boat in a while due to a busy schedule so I took her out and cleaned her up to use this weekend. Went through all systems in my driveway to be sure everything was working and the outboard cranked and started like it has never sat for a day. Year old batteries, fully charged, all good in that department.
Took her out on the water, turned the key, nothing. No click of the starter engaging, no spinning. Nothing. Checked the throttle and it was in neutral, kill switch was engaged. All seemed good. Tried a few more times and it finally cranked like normal and started quickly. Kind of concerning but it worked.
Ran it up the bayou and stopped by a friend for a min. Went to leave and same thing. Took several tries, trimmed up and down, then cranked perfectly.
While it works, I’m concerned about getting stranded if I start at the launch but then can’t start to come back.
Thoughts??

I've had the kill switch go bad and the neutral switch corroded enough to not work and crank.
You can jump each out in your driveway and test em.
Or they are both easy and cheap enough to change.
Could be solenoid but the kill switch after I saw the condition of ours is just plastic shite.

You can check for corroded battery leads too. Not making good contact or intermittent contact.
Polishing them up with a wire brush after the boat sits for awhile is something I have had to do.

Batteries in great shape, no worries there.
I’ll take a look at the kill switch. Where would the neutral switch be, in the shift?

My battery cable went bad at the starter on my F90. The eyes were cutting the cable at the starter. My friend at the boat shop gave me one to replace it.
Going back to see if he has another one. My F115 cable is doing the same at the battery.
He has salvage parts and is good to me.

Mine did that, turned out to be the starter solenoid relay. I called the dealer and it was extremely expensive from yamaha. Even the dealer was like, yeah, these things are way overpriced. Beings I don't use my boat a ton, I decided to give a $20 Chinese Amazon special a try. It's been almost 2 years now and it cranks just fine with it. Was easy to change.
I know you say your batteries are fine but you'd be surprised what just a tiny bit of corrosion inside the terminal can do. That has also caused mine not to crank in the past, but this last time was definitely that relay.

Mine was acting similar and I just changed out my negative battery cable and it’s fine now.
