I hope Coach O realizes he has just burned his last bridge with LSU...and Louisiana!

It's more of a name, getting Orgeron. Dude isn't exactly bright. Just because Meat Market was written and our D quit against "his" talent at Ole Miss, he's a god.

I'm past it now. I'm happy that we have Chavis. I love the way our team played in the bowl. JJ and RS will be pretty damn fun to watch, and we've got a stable of running backs coming back. It's a good time to be a tiger fan.

Apparently he doesn't . . .
quote:

Hebert said Orgeron told him he hoped he wasn’t burning a bridge to LSU because coaching the Tigers is still the Galliano native’s “dream job.”

“I think his ultimate dream is to be the head coach of LSU and he feels like if he has success at Tennessee that’s something that could still happen down the line,” Hebert said.

Orgeron is represented by agent Jimmy Sexton . . .

Silly to "get pressured" on the spot into signing anything in business. If that's how it went down, Orgeron really is a silly sot. Reality is that the "pressured" story is probably dubious though. It sounds very Sextonesque.

Regardless, signing a deal on a night LSU was playing a Bowl game doesn't seem to have been fair to Miles/LSU in terms of the negotiations. So yes, if that's what happened, I'd say O burned his bridges. In so far as his dream to eventually be LSU's HC, clearly that's delusional. Very doubtful IMO that Orgeron ever coaches at that level again at any school in D-1, much less at top tier.
