Kill 2-3 acres of alligator weeds

Any tips on how to open up small ponds covered in floating alligator weed before teal season? About 2-3 acres total
I figure spraying chemical won’t open ponds in time. Anyone ever used flame thrower to torch it?

Mud motor and some lap time since season is so close. A couple of weeks ago, you would have had time to hit it with Diquat.

Suprised someone hasn’t built something similiar to what the Thais have to clear their canals , 15/20hp motor mounted up front with a fan just chopping away.. forget osha and liability crap.
