Falling River Strategies UPDATE

The Ouachita will be falling six inches a day starting tomorrow. What are the best strategies for catching bass in these conditions?
UPDATE
Thanks for the advice! Went and bought several silver and black Bandits and caught a bunch of fish at the mouths of the sloughs and ditches.
It was pretty easy to tell which ones had fish in them (even without side facing sonar). When we pulled up if we saw shad jumping in the cut, the bass would be stacked up feeding.
We caught lots of spots and a few white bass.

Find any permanent break in current whether it be structure like rocks/large secluded trees/pilings/etc. or something like a point where there's a runout, canal off the river that breaks up the current. Idk anything about that body of water tbh but that's usually the premise of doing well on lots of current

No sir, I had to buy a new outboard awhile back so I haven’t had the funds to devote to the tech.

Very simple. Drains and Eddie’s . Some days right in the drain other days down incrementally from drain. Color change makes it even better. Start w moving baits then drag plastic for a few more. Have fun

Granted its been a few years since I've bass fished the Ouachita but given that scenario this advice already given is great
"Chrome w black back bandit crank bait at the mouths of the lakes"
I remember days when they woudl stack up just outside the "run outs" and we would just hammer them. Great times.
Also. Low water can bring some excellent crappie fishing too. Brush on the main river banks can be a good time.

Tried and tested methods anyplace with current. I am particularly fond of eddies, they just look like something is gonna be waiting in there

I am late to this party, but if I had a dollar for every 1 lb bass I caught in that river I would have a whole bunch of dollars. Falling like that is pretty simple to catch. I would advise you to move out from the mouth a bit and find any structures, they will sometimes hold schools a little bigger, and if it goes slow go up the drain and find any bends, but those fish used to be smaller. Additionally, the chrome and black bandit is good, as is the chartreuse and blue bandit if their is stained water....but even better than both is a Shad Rap in silver. This was a long time ago, but there were times where the Shad Rap was 5 to 1 any other crank bait. And if they are stacked up out in the mouth, dont hesitate to throw something below em. And also fun, as it gets low and is still falling you can get in the main river and find where the outflow has cut thru some of the sandbars, throwing some kind of light texas rig craw into the ones with current moving and letting it just follow the current can get bit every cast for many many fish. God I miss the river.
