Champion will be determined today 8/11, depending on the weather

How many innings do they play?

I know the parents of a couple players.

The bottom of the 5th was insane!!

The girl’s immediate reaction was the coach told her to go home.

I still don’t understand what transpired with the second run scoring. HP ump called her out. Replay showed the catcher dropped the ball, yet the runner’s foot wasn’t touching home when she recovered the ball.

My 2P to 4P just got filled. Rooting for these girls!

The girl that laid down the bunt kept running and ran into the other team’s player rounding 3rd so they called obstruction. I don’t know if that’s correct or not since the ball was at the plate and there wasn’t a play being made on her/she wasn’t trying to score, but they called it and gave them a big run.

I've only missed 2 games since the regional tournament. The Johnson kid is an absolute stud. They have been fun to watch.

I hate how the end of this tournament is set up though. There were 2 elimination games yesterday. Those two teams should have been forced to play a second game that day, instead of the championship being the second game of the day for both teams.

Also, Louisiana and NC stayed in the winners bracket. Had either lost today, they were done, only losing once in a double elimination bracket.

NC is absolutely loaded as well. Hoping for a good game, but it will be tough for LA to close this out.

Does anybody happen to know the pitching rules? It's a crock of shite if both teams can't throw their ace in the finals.

As long as neither pitcher started a 7th inning today, they are good to go tomorrow.

I didn't realize the championship was today, but now I see what you were saying about the set up. LL Softball pitching is based on innings, so both pitchers had 12 innings to throw today.

Ahh ok. I was curious what the rules were. There must be some rule about throwing over 6 in a game too that trumps the 12 in a day rule.

I know in the regional finals New Mexico was playing their second game of the day. Their elimination game went into extras and she threw the full game (not sure how many it went but it wasn't 12). She couldn't pitch in the championship later that day against Louisiana.
