The NFL Top 100 player list was released in full yesterday. Saints have 1 player on the list.

quote:

44 Demario Davis, LB, Saints

NFC South Teams:

quote:

99 Lavonte David, LB, Buccaneers
85 Tristan Wirfs, OT, Buccaneers
46 Antoine Winfield Jr, S, Buccaneers
26 Mike Evans, WR, Buccaneers

quote:

88 Chris Lindstrom, OG, Falcons
81 Kirk Cousins, QB, Falcons
74 Jessie Bates III, S, Falcons

I know it’s just a list that players vote on…but it just goes to show what we already know, that we don’t have a lot of talent.

Top 10

quote:

10 Maxx Crosby, EDGE, Raiders
9 Travis Kelce, TE, Chiefs
8 T.J. Watt, EDGE, Steelers
7 Trent Williams, OT, 49ers
6 Chris Jones, DL, Chiefs
5 Myles Garrett, EDGE, Browns
4 Patrick Mahomes, QB, Chiefs
3 Christian McCaffrey, RB, 49ers
2 Lamar Jackson, QB, Ravens
1 Tyreek Hill, WR, Dolphins

Having Lamar over Pat Mahomes invalidates this list

There were only 5 RBs on the whole list. So very hard to make it as a RB

Meanwhile there were 20 WRs

People put too much stock into these lists because it’s “player voted” but a lot of the players don’t vote and many of the ones that do don’t take that seriously. It’s a popularity contest to an extent just like every list. Hence why very few OL make the lists

Indictment for sure of the “brain trust” (sarcasm) choosing personnel for the Saints to only have one player when mathematically they should have three.

The list is interesting, while players have a different perspective than writers or fans, they also have some personal allegiances or beefs that might factor into their decisions.
