Will be in Columbus OH in late August visiting family. Plan on bringing the clubs. Any recommendations on courses to play in the area?

I've heard the golf course for Ohio State University is pretty spectacular, if not one of the best college golf courses in the country.

The Grey is fine, the Scarlet is great.

Think the Scarlet is now a private course only open to certain folks.

Columbus has the best set of courses - given the size of the local economy in the country - depends on your connections - or what your club pro may arrange for you …

The student rate was like $30 bucks to play Scarlet when I went to school there in the mid 2000s. Still the best golf bargain I've ever experienced in my life. There are some good public courses there too.

Blacklick Woods is the first that comes to mind.

Golf Club of Dublin about 20mins from downtown, pot bunkers and links sty;.

Virtues Golf course, used to be Longaberger. Championship level course but 50 mins from downtown. It’s a big gold, course. Greens are fast as hell, probably one of the best public courses in Central Ohio.

Courses at Ohio State were designed by Alister McKenzie.
