Just watched this for the first time today. My wife and I have always loved Sideways and Election but for whatever reason had never seen this movie, which was sandwiched between those two - released in 2002. Tone wise, it was very similar to Election and had all the usual quirks you would associate with an Alexander Payne movie. Jack Nicholson was perfect for that role at that point in his career. Anyways, if you have not seen it, I give it a solid thumbs up. If you have a short attention span it might not be for you. As an added bonus...you do get to see a famous actress nude, but I'll let you go figure out who.

It's one of the most depressing films I've ever seen. I think they were trying to see how many old boomers they could get to kill themselves.
